Willem "Olli" Olsthoorn and his wife Marieke Olsthoorn (a Textile Engineer and a Textile Design Teacher), decide that the world of children's clothing has gone long enough without a real commitment to pure imagination, rich textures, vivid color harmonies, and a spirit of unbridled celebration. Together they create Oilily, founded partly on an approach first explored while creating styles for their own young children. Oilily originated in the Netherlands in 1963.
